    POSTAGE & INSURANCE: $3.00 Postage & Handling for the first item ordered and $1.00 for each additional item. Books are sent via US Postal Service Media Mail or Bound Printed Matter in the US. For USPS Priority Mail it's $5.00 for the first item and $1.00 for each additional item. I use Economy (Surface) Letter-Post or Economy (Surface) M-Bag for Canada and overseas. Global Priority Mail can be used for many books (depending on book size) and costs $7.00 for Canada & Mexico and $9.00 for all other countries. All items are insured under a blanket policy.     BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES: The bibliography used for the T.E. Lawrence & related books is Philip O'Brien's T.E. Lawrence: A Bibliography (Delaware, Oak Knoll Press 2000) and, for World War I books, Cyril Falls's War Books: An Annotated Bibliography of Books About the Great War (London, Greenhill Books 1989).

    UK INVENTORY: I maintain a small stock of books in Scotland. These are noted by "UK STOCK " in the book description. Allow 4 to 6 weeks (surface mail delivery) for non-European customers.

    BELGIAN INVENTORY: I maintain a small stock of books in Brussels. These are noted by "BELGIAN STOCK " in the book description. Airmail (2nd Class, 1st Class and 1st Class Registered) postage will be quoted at cost.

    CONDITION: I've tried to grade fairly. Ask if unsure!!! Books are described as "book/dustjacket" ex. "FINE/VERY GOOD":

  • NEW or AS NEW = a new book or a book that is as good as new.
  • FINE = excellent with any defects described.
  • NEAR FINE & VERY GOOD+ = any defects described.
  • VERY GOOD = has minor faults which are described.
  • GOOD = still decent but with more noticeable faults described. [I also use GOOD+]
  • FAIR = okay but with more serious faults described.
  • POOR = well used with major faults described.
  • READING COPY = is only good for reading.
  • BINDING COPY = the books' binding is shot, but the text is still readable.
  • cloth = cloth covered boards.
  • cloth & boards = cloth spine and paper cover boards.
  • PRICE CLIPPED DUSTJACKETS and BOOK CLUB EDITIONS are ALWAYS noted.
  • Neat OWNERSHIP INSCRIPTIONS and/or BOOKPLATES are NOT always noted.

    BOOK DIMENSIONS: These are the standard abbreviations for book dimensions. The measurements aren't usually exact, so you're liable to see "small 4to" and "large 8vo", etc.

  • 15.00" x 12.00" = folio
  • 12.00" x 9.00" = 4to (quarto)
  • 9.00" x 6.00" = 8vo (octavo)
  • 7.50" x 5.00" = 12mo
  • 6.75" x 4.25" = 16mo
  • 6.00" x 4.50" = 24mo
  • 5.00" x 3.25" = 32mo
  • 4.00" x 2.50" = 48mo
  • 3.00" x 2.00" = 64mo
